HP Photosmart C7280 Fax fix Noise on RCN Digital Phone Line

I have an HP Photosmart C7280 Fax machine and printer and when I recently switched to RCN digital phone line (Arris cable modem) I heard clicking and loud noises when I was making a phone call.

The lights on the cable modem were flashing.

Solution: be sure to connect the HP all-in-one printer and fax machine by a 2-wire phone cord. I cut the two outermost wires on my cord (cutting the black and yellow) and my noise problem was solved.
